Race director George Booker of African Safari Marathon (Pty) Ltd will be staging the first official Dakar style road book rally from April the 25th to the 3rd may 2014.
The rally will be known as the Namaqua African Rally as it begins and ends in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront.
A short prologue will be held on the 27th April near cape town to determine start positions for the main race.
The bivouac will be in Vredendal showgrounds 320 km north up the West coast just off the N7.
Shamrock style loops of approximately 400 kilometers per day will be raced for four consecutive days.
A final leg of 150 km will be around the Atlantis dune park with the finish and prize giving at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
