RIDER INFORMATION
This document contains all the information that you will need for Round
5 of the GXCC and Round 4 of the SA National Cross Country, which will be held
in Delmas on 11 September 2021.
1.
CLUB
MEMBERSHIP
Each and every competitor, including WOW riders, MUST belong to a
Motorsport South Africa affiliated club, except competitors who take out a one
event club, regional or national license. GXCC is a MSA affiliated club and
club memberships can be taken out or renewed online as per the processes below.
We are not affiliated to WOMZA and therefore WOMZA clubs
and licenses are not recognized for the purposes of our events.
2.
MSA
LICENSE
In order to compete in any GXCC event (including the SA National Cross
Country) you will need a license from Motorsport South Africa.

Only MSA
licenses are accepted at our events and not WOMZA
licenses.

BEFORE THE DAY OF THE EVENT!
Competitors
without a valid MSA license will not be allowed to start the race!
You MUST send a copy of your license to admin@gxccracing.co.za. Annual license
holders only need to send it once for the year. If you have not
sent yours yet, please do so. Day license holders must send their licenses before
every event.
NO DOCUMENTATION
WILL BE DONE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT!

RACE
NUMBER
You MUST obtain an official race number from Carmen Hill
at Motorsport South Africa. Please email a copy of your license to carmen@motorsport.co.za and request a
race number from her.
Your race number on Race Control must be the same as the race number
that you receive from MSA.
4.
RACE
ENTRY
The event which will take place on 11 September is a combined national,
regional & club event. All entries must be done online at www.racecontrol.co.za by midnight on
Wednesday 8 September 2021.
National
competitors:
-
If you are competing in the national event
(national classes) only, then you need to enter for the SA National Cross
Country 4 – Delmas only.

If you are competing in the national, regional
& club event (national, regional & club classes), then you need to
enter for the SA National Cross Country 4 – Delmas and for GXCC
5 – Delmas.
Regional & Club
competitors (including WOW):
-
Regional and club competitors, who will
not be competing in the national classes need to enter for GXCC 5 – Delmas.

Regional and club competitors, please
ensure that you enter the correct matching club and regional classes. On Race
Control under “Class 1” please enter the GXCC class that you wish to enter and
under “Class 2” please enter the Northern Regions class that you wish to enter.
For example: GXCC OR 1 Pro and NR OR 1 Pro

Club & WOW competitors can enter only
for GXCC club classes. Do not select a second class. On Race Control under
“Class 1”, please enter the class you wish to enter and leave “Class 2” empty.
ENTRIES WILL CLOSE
ON WEDNESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2021 @ MIDNIGHT. LATE ENTRIES WILL INCURR A LATE
PENALTYN FEE OF R100.
You only
need to send your MSA license (if you have not done so already) and proof of
payment to us. We don’t need your entry form, medical form or
self-scrutineering form. We already have that online.

Please make sure that you pay the correct entry fees.
Although Race Control
may indicate a combined Regional & Club entry as R800 and a National entry
as R1,400, competitors who compete in the national, regional and club
classes will only pay R1,400.00 for senior competitors and
R700.00 for junior competitors.
Proof of payment must be sent to admin@gxccracing.co.za.
Please use the riders name
and surname as reference.
Your entry will be confirmed once your payment reflects in our bank
account.

6.
SELF-SCRUTINEERING
You MUST complete the online self-scrutineering on Race
Control when you enter the race.
The MSA Technical Scrutineer WILL randomly conduct
searches and scrutineer 10% of all competitors.
7.
MEDICAL
KITS
MSA Compliant medical kits, including a medical board and a space
blanket can be purchased from us at R175 per kit. Please note that the medical
kit does not contain pain killers, paper and a pencil.
Please email your proof of payment to admin@gxccracing.co.za. Please use the rider’s name and
surname as reference. We cannot allocate payments with a reference
such as “Race Entry”.
Medical kits can be collected at Race HQ on the day of the event.
8.
COVID SCREENING
Each and every person who will be at the venue must complete his/her own online Daily Screening
Questionnaire on the following link: https://forms.gle/Fvnqe8TxwQ3E1Dta9
Parents may complete the form on behalf of minor children.
This form will open
on Wednesday 8 September 2021 @ 08:00 and will close on Friday 10 September 2021 @ 17:00.
If you are NOT on the list, you will be required to complete a manual
form at the gate. This may take time and cause traffic congestion at the gate.
Therefore, please complete the online form before its closing time.
This form cannot be
printed and must be completed online.
Each rider may bring 5 pit crew members.

10.
WHEN
YOU GET TO THE GATE
Once you get to the gate, the following will happen:
At the 1st Gazebo:
-
Your temperature will be taken.
-
Your temperature will be written next to your
name on the list.
-
You will receive your rider pack from the ladies
at the gate.
-
You will pay your R20 per person gate entry fee
(please bring cash).
At the 2nd Gazebo:
-
Your helmet tag will be scanned to check that it
corresponds with your bike.
-
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU GIVE OUR STAFF THE CORRECT NUMBER. DON’T
LEAVE OUT THE C, L OR J BEFORE THE NUMBER. INCORRECT TAG NUMBERS CAUSE MAJOR
TIMING ISSUES!

Your race number on Race Control and on your
tag must be the same as the race number you received from MSA.
-
If you do not have a tag yet, you will be able
to purchase one at the 2nd gazebo for R100 (please bring cash).
-
You will sign a register confirming that your
tag and the numbers on your bike correspond.

GPS
ROUTES FOR NATIONAL COMPETITORS
In terms of the regulations, it is compulsory for every national
competitor to compete with a Garmin GPS.
The track’s GPS routes MUST be downloaded onto your GPS before you
start the race. National competitors will be able to download the GPS routes at
Race HQ on the following dates and times:
Friday, 10 September 2021 from 15:00 to 17:00
Saturday, 11 September 2021 from 06:00 to 10:00

STICKERS
FOR NATIONAL COMPETITORS
Each national
competitor will receive a sticker with the SA National Cross Country Logo on it
(see example below). This sticker MUST be placed anywhere on your
front number plate.
NATIONAL COMPETITOR
The purpose of
this sticker is to identify you as a national competitor and to ensure that you
do the required amount of laps for the national event and not be unnecessarily
time barred.
14.
RACE
FORMAT
The race format will be DIFFERENT than the previous round
in Modimolle.
The race format for national, regional & club competitors will be
as follows:
Junior National Competitors:
-
All junior national competitors will start in a
mass start in the first gate before the club & regional classes.
-
Junior national competitors will get a gate pick
in accordance with their overall national standings.
-
Junior national competitors must complete 7
laps. Each lap is about 15km.
-
The junior national, regional & club race
will start at 08:00.
Senior Motorcycle National Competitors:
-
There will not be any time trial
for national competitors.
-
Senior national motorcycle competitors will start
in a mass start, 20 competitors per gate, in the first gates before the club
& regional classes.
-
Senior national motorcycle competitors will get a
gate pick in accordance with their overall national standings.
-
Senior national motorcycle competitors must
complete 6 laps. Each lap is about 50km. There will not
be an A-Loop and a B-Loop. You will race the normal GXCC senior loop only.
-
Senior national motorcycle competitors will have
a compulsory decontrol of 15 minutes after the senior national
leader has completed 4 laps.

The senior national, regional & club race
will start at 12:00.
Junior Club & Regional Competitors:
-
You will start in the respective GXCC classes as
always. You will get a gate pick in accordance with your GXCC standings.
-
Your race format will not be the
normal 2-hour format. You will complete a maximum of 6 laps. Each
lap is about 15km.
-
Your race will start at 08:00.
Senior Motorcycle Club & Regional Competitors:
-
You will start in the respective GXCC classes as
always. You will get a gate pick in accordance with your GXCC standings.
-
Your race format will not be the
normal 3-hour format. You will complete a maximum of 4 laps. Each
lap is about 50km.
-
Your race will start at 12:00.
Senior Quad Competitors
-
You will start in the respective GXCC classes as
always. You will get a gate pick in accordance with your GXCC standings.
-
Your race format will not be the
normal 3-hour format. You will complete a maximum of 4 laps. Each
lap is about 50km.
-
Your race will start at 08:00.
15.
RESULTS
The results will be posted on the Telegram Group as soon as possible
after the last competitor completed the event.
Once provisional results have been posted you have 30 minutes
to submit any queries, corrections and protests. Once the 30 minutes have
lapsed, we will not be able to change any results.
16.
PRIZE
GIVING
Prize giving will be held at the times as announced on the Telegram
Group on the day of the event.
YOU MUST
WEAR YOUR MASK TO PRIZE GIVING! Should you not wear your mask, you will
be asked to leave the prize giving area immediately.
17. COVID PROTOCOLS
You MUST
wear your mask at all times, especially when you leave your own pit
area. Sanitizer stands are available at Race HQ and in front of the toilets.
Only competitors and 1 crew member will be allowed in the line-up are.
Should
you, your pit crew or any person associated with you fail to adhere to the
Covid protocols, you may receive a time penalty or be excluded
from the event.
18.
ALCOHOL
No
alcohol may be consumed during the course the event!
Alcohol
will be confiscated and if you, your pit crew or any person associated with you
fail to adhere to this rule, you may receive a time penalty or be
excluded from the event.
19.
FOOD
& BEVERAGES
Food and beverages will be for sale at the event.
20.
CAMPING
Competitors and their service crew are welcome to camp in the pits, provided that all Covid
protocols are strictly adhered to.
21.
ACCOMMODATION
You can use Red Star Raceway as
the nearest landmark to book accommodation.
22.
TOILETS
Toilets will be available at the event.
23.
FIRES
You are not allowed to braai on an open fire at the event.
24.
GENERAL

On the Friday before the event, we are on the road or at the farm and
our cell phone signal and data connection may be interrupted. As a result, we
will not be able to effectively attend to last minute queries. Therefore,
please send us your queries before 17:00 on Thursday 9 September 2021.
